Nutcracker: exclusive behind-the-scenes rehearsal plus backstage tour

Exclusive behind-the-scenes rehearsal of ballet’s Christmas classic, The Nutcracker, featuring students of Canada’s National Ballet School. As an early Christmas present to St. Georgians, this is free to members. Student dancers add a big part of the magic to this acclaimed version of The Nutcracker, which has been delighting Toronto audiences for over a dozen years. As an added bonus, St. Georgians are invited for an exclusive backstage tour before the performance. The School’s spectacular new buildings have won 13 awards, most recently the International Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.

December 5
Christmas Celebration

Join the Yuletide revels in historic St. George’s Hall festooned in Christmas splendour.
6 p.m. Complimentary drink in the bar
7 p.m. Bagpipe procession into the Great Hall for a three-course dinner with wine, turkey and flaming Christmas pudding
9 p.m.- All-singing, all-dancing entertainment by the Jenny Wren Revue, followed by Christmas carols in the Great Hall and later, more intimately, around the piano in the bar

January 11
Speaker and lunch

Engaging talk on the history of Cadbury chocolate, delicious lunch, historic setting, tour of the renowned Elmwood spa, plus vouchers and gifts. Guest speaker John Bradley wrote Cadbury’s Purple Reign: the story behind chocolate’s best-love brand. Lunch in the elegant fourth floor restaurant of the grand Elmwood Club – built in 1889 – is followed by an optional tour.
